U.S. biodiesel production hit another record high of 142 million gallons in August, showing a modest increase of 2 million gallons over a month earlier, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said in a monthly report on Monday. 

August biodiesel output was up 18 million gallons, or 14.5% from a year earlier and August marked the fourth consecutive month of record U.S. biodiesel production. 

Soybean oil remained the largest biodiesel feedstock, accounting for about 54.5% of total feedstocks used.  Soybean oil for biodiesel use was record large at 561 million pounds in August, up 4.7% from the 536 million pounds used in July and up 20.9% from the 464 million used in August, 2015.
