David Behrel, Vice President of Brock Investor Services
David Behrel’s roots in the commodity business date back 100 years to 1913, when his grandfather, Will Roy Behrel, purchased a membership at the Chicago Board of Trade. David’s father was a member of the CBOT for nearly 50 years as well, making David a third generation grain trader.
David has worked in the futures industry for nearly 25 years, including two years on the floor and more than 10 years with Brock Investor Services.
David strives to keep his clients up to date with important news and changing market conditions and informed of the latest positions and strategies outlined in the Brock Report. He provides fast and reliable order execution for the experienced trader and assists the novice hedger in understanding and implementing the Brock strategies in a timely manner. David also specializes in alternative option strategies that can help reduce the volatility and possibly improve the performance of a hedge account. This includes implementing option spread strategies specifically designed to take advantage of market trends and the time decay of option premium with the specific goal of enhancing the clients’ net selling price for their grain. David graduated from Drake University in 1985 with a degree in finance.

Joe Kale, Broker
Joe Kale has 25-plus years of industry experience as a broker, floor trader on the various Chicago exchanges and an international proprietary trader based in Japan for a Wall Street firm. Joe joined the Brock Investor Services team in 2004 and works in the Milwaukee, Wis., office. He has a degree in analytical management from the U.S. Naval Academy.

Kevin Woods, Broker
Kevin Woods has been a broker for 30-plus years and trades numerous discretionary accounts for his customers. He has managed BIS’ Indiana office since 2005. A graduate of Purdue University in agricultural economics, Kevin was a member of the Chicago Board of Trade for six years. Kevin’s hobbies include flying airplanes and playing guitar and banjo.

Jack Marshall, Broker
Jack Marshall, Memphis, Tennessee. Jack joins Brock after years of experience as a floor trader in Chicago and years of working as a commodity broker. Jack has also incorporated a Commodity Trading Adviser, has experience working for a wealth management firm, teaches a technical analysis course at University of Memphis and is a member of The Memphis Cotton Exchange. Jack’s experience as a floor trader, broker, technical analyst and educator make him a fantastic addition to our team.
Frank Stone, Kansas City, Missouri. Frank was raised on a farm in Central Illinois. After graduating from Millikin University in 1976, he was hired by ADM. After spending time in Iowa and Illinois merchandising grain he moved to Kansas City in 1981 to manage two terminal elevators, merchandise coarse grains and establish a futures clearing operation at the Kansas City Board of Trade (KCBT) for ADM. In 1985, he joined Geldermann to open a commodity futures office for them at the KCBT. He developed commercial grain accounts and ran all KCBT clearing operations for the company. That same year, he purchased a KCBT membership which he owned until the sale of the exchange to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 2012. In 2010, he started Kansas City Trading Group, Inc. (KCTG) as a Guaranteed Introducing Broker, registered with the NFA and affiliated with MF Global. In 2011, he changed Kansas City Trading Group’s registration with the NFA and became an Independent Introducing Broker. This enables KCTG to conduct business with multiple FCM’s. Over his 29 years of involvement with the KCBT he has been Director of the Exchange for 5 years and Director of the Clearing Corporation for 3 years. He was Chairman of the Exchange in 2007 and President of the Clearing Corporation in 1988 and 2004. He was also President of the KCBT Investment Corporation.
Katie Hancock, Marketing Consultant
Katie Hancock, Water Valley, Kentucky. Katie joined Brock Associates as an agricultural commodity marketing consultant in 2013 and operates a branch office in Water Valley, Ky. As a Marketing Consultant and a grower herself, Katie will help growers—men and women—remove the intimidation and emotions often associated with commodity marketing. One of her goals is to help fellow growers understand marketing tools available to them and have them comfortable using those tools.
Katie is a 2008 graduate of Murray State University, where she earned a degree in agricultural business. After graduating from college, Katie returned to farm full-time and learn at the side of her father Joe Sanger on a 6,400-acre grain farm near Hickman, Ky. In addition to being a Brock Associates Marketing Consultant, Katie owns two small grain farms near Water Valley, Ky., and provides managerial accounting and marketing input to her husband Jordan Hancock and his cousin who farm 5,000 acres.

Charlie Stutesman, Marketing Consultant
Charlie Stutesman, Sturgis, Mich. Charlie will be operating out of our southwest Michigan office and has over 25 years of experience working with farmers, elevators, merchandising and management. Stutesman started and owns a seed and chemical business, NatureTEC Ag. He previously worked as national sales manager for Partners Brand Seed, a small family-owned seed business serving 18 states. Stutesman also has experience working as a grain merchandiser and farmer marketing advisor for an elevator.
Stutesman grew up on and still farms a northwest Ohio farm that has been in the family since 1835. He has a bachelor's degree in Economics and an M.B.A. in Organizational Development from Bowling Green State University. As a marketing consultant, Stutesman places a priority on keeping an open dialogue with clients, and also helps growers with their budgeting process.
