U.S. soybean export shipments appear to have hit a new all-time record high in the most recent reporting week with U.S. exporters rushing to fill large Chinese purchases for delivery through January. 

U.S. soybean export sales for the week ended Nov. 5 totaled 117.2 million bushels, eclipsing the previous high of 111.0 million set in November of 2016, according to USDA data. 

U.S. soybean export shipments for 2020/21 to date through Nov. 5 at 727.1 million bushels were running 86.8% above a year earlier and were the highest on record for that point in the marketing year. 

Weekly soybean export shipments to China for the week ended Nov. 5 totaled more than 76.7 million bushels.  U.S. export shipments to China for 2020-21 to date were 522.1 million bushels or nearly 72% of total shipments.
