Monday morning’s National Oilseed Processors Association monthly crush report for April confirmed trade expectations, showing a slowdown in processing operations versus a month earlier and a year earlier. 

The report, issued through Reuters News Service pegged NOPA members’ April soybean crush at 147.61 million bushels, down 5.8% from the March crush of 156.69 million bushels and down 1.8% from the April 2015 crush of 150.36 million bushels. The crush was nearly spot on the median of trade expectations, which was 147.70 million bushels. Expectations ranged from 143.0-152.0 million bushels. 

NOPA reported member soyoil stocks at 1.943 billion pounds as of April 30, up from 1.859 billion pounds at the end of March and up 34.8% from 1.441 billion pounds a year earlier. NOPA soyoil stocks were also above the medeion trade estimate of 1.866 billion pounds.
